My husbands cervical surgery on February 5th went well and he is healing.  Thanks to the surgery His pain and numbness in his arms and hands has thankfully disappeared.  The hospital was overloaded with the flu and unfortunately we had to bring it home with us.  Sunday night Chuck spiked a fever and extremely high blood pressure reading so we decided to try and make it through the night and go to the Doctor on Monday and the Doctor order the swab test and sure enough Chuck tested positive for the flu. We did not get home until Monday 6:30 pm.  I tried to send out an e-mail but unfortunately some of you did not receive it, so sorry.   I also have been under the weather but did not go to the Doctor.  Everyday we are both feeling somewhat better.  I am not teaching any classes this week but am looking forward to getting back to class on Monday.February 17th.  So sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you,

NO hugs today - don't want to give you the flu,

September - wow - weather was great and dancing was the best.  Hope you were able to appreciate both.
This month looks like Hana Ries was a favorite choreographer.  We have been enjoying her Knockin' Boots and this past week we added Damn! (a fun contra dance) and Buy My Own Drinks - neat dance that goes well with the music.  Looking forward to more of her choreography.
Other dances taught/danced in September were:  Soul Shake - Fred Whitehouse, Train Swing by Neils, Senorita La-La-La by Julia Wetzel, Boys by Scott & Joey, classic oldie Evergreen by Karen Hunn.
New dances on Monday were:  I Ain't Never by Jo Thompson Szymanski, Michael Barr & Michele Burton and I used Michael Bubles Baby You've Got What It Takes for music, also taught Rescue Party by Shane McKeever - a little challenge trying to do the middle of the dance (Dizzy) backwards - but we are up to the challenge.
Looking forward to October and new dances and bringing back some classics.  For sure and requested we will be working on Chill Factor.
The Monday at 5 class is beginners and we introduce a lot of classics - a fun class to begin with.   As the evening progresses so do our dances.

Judy's Blog Aug 13, 2019:

Hi Dancers,
Our summer classes are going by so quickly.  Hard to believe schools will be starting back within the next couple of weeks.
We are having so much fun with some of the new dances and re-doing some of the old classics.

Maria Sibila is originally from Massillon Ohio and danced with my Mother, Martha Galvin Fritz throughout her growing up years.  She now lives in Spain with her husband.  Their 2 children are now residing in America, Son is a Doctor in Columbus and the daughter is in college in Pennsylvania, and that brings Maria home for the summers and while here she dances with many area line dance instructors.  We wish Maria the best of luck this week as she will be competing in UCWDC in Chicago.  Very proud to tell you that She is a National Champion.  You can watch her videos on you tube, just type in Maria Sibila and the videos will come up.  You go gal - dance up a storm.

This is what we worked on this past Monday:  Charleston Cha Cha, Stealing The Best, Country Bump by Darren Bailey, Blue Rose Is, Heavenly Waltz by Bertha-Rose Park, Goin' Hamm by Trevor Thornton, Stroll Along Cha Cha, Country As Can Be by Suzanne Wilson, Honey Pie by Maggie, new one for the beginners was Mustang Sally by Laura Rittenhouse

Moving up a level:
Classic review:  Four Star Boogie by Melanie Greenwood & Madly Off In All Directions by Michelle Perron.  , new dance Long Tall Sally by Marja Urgent & Jan van Tiggelen (this is a fun dance) Come Dance With Me, Rockin' The Wagon Wheel, Havana Cha, All I Am Is You, Sucker, Codigo, Little Red Book,

Next level:
Review:  Senorita La-La-La by Julia Wetzel, Train Swing by Niels Poulsen, Who's Up All Night by Brandon Zahorsky
Two new dances:  Gone West by Gary O'Reily & Maggie Gallagher & Playboys by Karl-Harry Winson.

Playboys was unanimously the favorite
Hope you come dance with us Monday classes start at 5:00 and we dance until 8.

Hi,
So sorry for being late for class yesterday.  The clock that I count on is my kitchen and is a battery clock  needless to say it left me down.  Thankfully Chuck was on the computer and noticed the time otherwise???????
Thank you for waiting - as soon I realized I was late I tried to call 3 people that I know are usually there and - shame on me but I don't have their cell phone numbers.  Mine is 330-697-1440, hopefully that won't happen again but in case - please call me.

Once I settled down I had a good time and I hope you did too.  New dances were:  Pretty Woman by Laura Rittenhouse and Who's Up All Night by Brandon Zahorsky - also revised two classics:  Honey Pie by Maggie Gallagher and Wave on Wave by Alan Birchall.  Look for the step sheets on Copperknob.

Hi Dancers,

First of all let's all take time to pray for Frank Traces recovery from his surgery. Frank is in good health and is a fighter and I have confidence that he will be back and able to dance with us soon. Thank you Louie for keeping us updated, This has to be a very difficult time for you.

I am planning on starting classes back up this Monday, March 11th. My plan is to start classes at 5:30 and will dance until 7:30. As my endurance increases and if interested we could extend the time. At 5:15 - if there is an interest for brand new dancers I will go over the electric slide, cupid shuffle etc. or just go over some basic steps.. Class will start at 5:30.

I have been going over some neat new dances that are out there and have been anxious to share them with you. We will also review Tina Fosters King Of The Road, Country As Can Be, K Is For Kicks, Skinny Genes, Little Red Book, Stroll Along Cha Cha, & Mamma Maria Most of these fun dances should only need a one wall walk through.

The next hour - so many dances - so little time - Sangria Sun by Tina Argyle, Hey Baby by Larry Bass, Whiskey Bridge by Maddison, of course you can just dance Havana Cha, & Groovy Love, & there were a couple of really good dances that we didn't have the chance to be able to dance them without checking the step sheets that we will go over.

If there are any dances that you would like for me to break down please text or e-mail me - give me at least 2 days to prepare for them.
Thanks so much for your patience. Hope to see you Monday.

I miss dancing - a lot, and all of you too. Have a good week.

If I have left someone out I am sorry. Please pass the word along. A couple of the addresses I have are bouncing back at me.

Hi Line Dancers,
So very sorry but I cannot have class this Monday. As some of you know my hip has been bothering me, and while coming down the steps here at home it gave out completely and now am not able to put weight on it. I am sure it is pulled, stretched, torn muscles that just need to rest so hopefully by the time I am healed from the upcoming surgery the hip will be healed and I will be ready to dance again. Thank you so much for for patience with me. I will e-mail all as soon as I will be able to. I am so very sorry if I have missed anyone.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Judy's Blog Sep 11, 2018

Hi Dancers,
New dances this week were fun, if you missed class we will review them next week. The easiest was Sangria Sun by Tina Argule - we danced this 3 times - I know there are many dances out there to Blake Shelton's song but please try Tina's. I hope you will like it - betting most dancers will enjoy Sangria Sun. Another new dance called Honky Tonk Highway by Kelly Cavallaro, was a fun dance. Brought back 2 oldies - Skinny Genes and Honey Pie. Then we dove right into the intermediate dances and we learned Gary O'Reilly's Double Whiskey and Love Is The Name by Alison Johnstone and many - not so sure about this dance the dance is good just the music doesn't make me want to dance. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks and I do like this one enough to give it another try. The oldie brought back was Gypsy Queen and we never get tired of dancing Frank Traces Love Me Or Leave Me.
Have a great weekend - hope you will find someplace to dance and I look forward to sharing new dances with you on Monday. We start with the easier dances at 5 and the level picks up as the evening goes on. Usually around 6 we start on the improvers and 7 is the intermediate/advanced.
Come Dance with us,

Tonight's class was really fun for me.  Kinda a slow starting a few of the regulars were absent and then who walks in but Theresa and 2 of my Mothers students - we go back many years ago - in fact - Maria and my daughter, Kim were in their first dance recital together in 1959 or 1960.  Just a couple of years ago - right??  I wish my Mother were still with me she would have enjoyed watching Maria dance, she is loaded with grace, personality and rhythm and looks beautiful.  Maria is married and lives in Argentina but comes home to Massillon Ohio every summer to spend time with her elderly father.  She is a good person.  In fact as she was leaving she said to be it is good to come back to your roots.
Dances done this evening were:  warmed up with a 24 count - choreographer unknown dance called Cab Driver, K Is For Kicks, Country As Can Be y Suzanne Wilson, Let's Groove by Anne Herd (used the song Zero To Crazy), Just A Two Steppin' by Jo , Texas Two-Step by Micaella, Whiskey Bridges by Maddison, It Ain't My Fault by Brandon, Seduced by Ira & new dance was an oldie - King Of The Road by Pedro & Jo, My Mother My Teacher My Friend by Ira, Havana Cha by Ria, new dance Lie To Me by Raymond Sarlemijn (they like it - yea - and so did I), Get It Right by Mddison (not sure I will ever get the tags and restarts right), Doing The Walk Of Shame by Pim (we are getting better on this one), Dive Right In by Will Craig - beautiful waltz bu not for the beginner.  Then they requested Dance Above The Rainbows and Champagne Promise - then our feet said good night.  and a good night it was.  Thanks to all that came out to dance.  As Clint Eastwood would have said - You Made My Day.  See you at 5 next Monday.

1st class back in Akron: It was a great night of dancing. In trying to prepare for Frank Trace's workshop this weekend we went over a lot of the dances that he suggested. Of course there wasn't time to do them all but here is how the evening went.
5:00 we had a couple of new dancers so we started out with Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle and everyone already new those so that made my job a lot easier. From there we went to Cab Driver - choreographer unknown - this dance is very popular in Florida, next we did 2 of Suzanne Wilson's dances - Hot Country Girl and Country As Can Be, Cowboy Charleston, then to Frank Trace's Mamma Maria & Smells Like Trouble To Me, Ruben Luna's Ipanema Girl and our new dance was Let's Groove by Anne Herd - when this dance was taught in Florida they used the song Zero To Crazy and so did I.
6:00 - Now we are getting down to the nitty gritty - we started out with The Bomp ( they all forgot it awwww) , Rockin' The Wagon Wheel, K Is for Kicks by Christopher Gonzalez ( this is a fun dance), Ain't My Fault by Brandon Zahorsky (love the song), Little Red Book, new to the class A Complete Change by Niels Poulsen (really like the song and the dance goes with it perfect), Drinkin' Problem by Darren Bailey, also new was Whiskey Bridges by Maddison Glover ( great job by this young choreographer, Lonely Drum by Darren Mitchell,
7:00 - Champaign Promise by Tina Argyle, Blessed by Jackie Miranda, Havana Cha by Ria Vos and the new one Doing The Walk by Pim, Jef & Roy.
I now have very tired but happy feet. Thank you to all that came out to dance with me tonight - I had a good time and I hope you did too. More to come next week -
